Olmos Park

The City prides itself on being a friendly city with over 800 single-family homes.

Welcome to Olmos Park

Olmos Park has a rich history dating back to the mid-1920s when H.C. Thorman, a renowned oilman, and real estate tycoon, purchased the property from an Austrian count and developed the posh suburb that became known as Olmos Park. Completely surrounded by the City of San Antonio, the residents enjoy both the advantages of a small town and those of a big city.

The City prides itself on being a friendly city with over 800 single-family homes, most valued between $450,000 and $950,000. Several are valued at more than $1,500,000. Many architectural styles complement the neighborhood and large, beautiful trees form a canopy of shade over many of the streets. There is a small apartment district of about 250 units.

Their business district includes several restaurants serving everything from quick sandwiches to gourmet meals and ethnic specialties. They have a wide range of other businesses including convenience stores, auto garages, hair salons, and service companies. There is an H.E.B. grocery store located just a few blocks from the city limits.

Olmos Park is located in the Alamo Heights Independent School District. School bus service is provided by A.H.I.S.D. with a stop at nearly every corner. There is a VIA bus service on McCullough. Olmos Park offers four parks, the largest of which is Alameda Circle, consisting of a one-half acre.

There are three major social events held at Alameda Circle each year: the King Antonio party on the first Sunday of Fiesta, the annual 4th of July Parade, and the Night Out event in October.
